Now to AD's question - what will they do and if the father is liable. I think if the Indian judicial system worked, the father would be done for negligence. This case however will be watched closely by many, so the judicial machinery may have to move, and move swiftly. This was not random, it was revenge. Revenge is common in India. Violent crime and murder is rampant in India which I have written about on my blog.
