55er – Desperate Blogger
Arpit was going crazy. He hadnt posted in weeks. He spent the entire day thinking about the next post. The outline was ready.
“This will be the best post ever. As soon as i get home…”
He got home at 10. Exhaustion took over and soon he was snoring.
The blog would have to wait.
Author’s note: My first attempt at writing a short story in the space of 55 words; popularly known as 55ers. It’s pretty hard, as i were to realize over the course of composing this one. Hope you like.

@Reema – Thanks!
@Gauri – Thanks. As if you had any doubts that i could not be good at something!
@mesingh – Thanks!
@Roshni – Thanks. NO! 55 words provides no scope. My first draft was some 80 odd words. From there i worked to get it down to 55.
@Kavi – Thanks! It was like you speaking? You have been managing regular posts on your blog fairly well! You write faster than i can read!
@amlistening – It is all part of the effort to reduce global warming. With my typing speed, i often see smoke coming out of the keyboard after 5 minutes of typing. The shorter the posts, the lesser i type, the lesser smoke produced, the lesser the impact of global warming.

@Puneet – Thanks!
@Ekta Khetan – Thanks! I think you should keep (trying to) write these 55ers. That way you will end up with enough stories to publish your own book!
@Kiran – Thanks. Stories going around like fire? Helps in the winter!

If your blog were loved by someone, whatever contents you write in your blog will be definitely loved by your readers. Your blog fans like me will visit your website often even though there is no new contents. But its worth posting something than rather not updating your blog. If you are not updating a blog, your fans will think your blog is dead and thereby their tendency of revisiting your blog will die soon. I know that you know about this better than me since you are a well experienced blogger. I just want your fans too be aware about this if they too doing blogging.
Few months my website was dead since i changed the contents to another website and later i made a blog. Again the visitors count start growing daily. But the blog was dying slowly since i was very lazy in posting stuffs, but in between i was hardly working to redesign my blog. I have created so many adaptation for search engines and designed a fresh look. But the real fact is that my visitors don’t know about these and start ignoring my blog. Even though they were not knowing that old stuffs has been shifted to new website. Also i forget to make some necessary modification in webmasters central of Google to let them know that my website has been shifted. I feel very sad when i saw that my website visitors has been dropped from 1000+/day to 100+/day. So i recommend all of you to keep on updating your blog and do necessary steps if you are doing any hard-time maintenance in your blog. Thank you !

here’s one:
“the cabbage fell on the floor, narrowly missing the table. it is soiled now, unfit for consumption. it was the last one. i stare at the total waste and reach for the tomato. it glistens in my hand. one swift stroke of the knife, it rests divided on shredded lettuce bed, shrivelling under vinegar rain.”
enjoy.
