Doctors Rock!

Actually, a lot of of them deserve to be hit with rocks.

Take this. The Uterus Snatchers of Andhra. [link]

Rural pockets across Andhra are being taken for a ride by greedy doctors removing women’s uteruses for any and every ailment. All because a surgical procedure would fetch them more money than a mere medicine prescription.

These victims of rampant medical malpractice and government apathy now make for a startling statistic of the National Family Health Survey – the number of young menopausal women is the highest in Andhra Pradesh, standing at a staggering 31.4 per cent.

So we have young women in worse physical shape than much older ones. These women cannot bear children, and end up spending all their savings on medicines due to the amazingness inflicted upon them.

And to think we spend our time worrying about Moon missions, UN security council memberships, and Cricket. Jai ho, India!

It sounds like a fair bargain to cut away these doctors’ jewels to repay for the women’s loss. Shall we?

Though I am not supporting such malpractices or such doctors I think the statement “most of them should be hit with rocks” is too harsh. The correct statement in my view is “such doctors should be hit with rocks”. I hope u get what I am trying to say.

Reema – i hope you are right in thinking that way. From what i have seen, heard, and read, most doctors are just running shops with no care or regard for the lives of people they ‘treat’.

To back me up, you may have seen reports of how insurance companies recently revoked cashless treatments because of how the hospitals would misuse these to over charge and under treat people.

There’s a post coming on this topic soon :)

Doctors are as good or bad as other individuals in our society, so can’t single them out for wrong doings.
About unnecessary surgeries, it is our worst kept secret, it happens in the cities also.

profession of a doctor is considered to be a noble profession and is to serve the society but not to cheat them.
who so ever is cheater though need to be punished but who plays with one’s health is doing crime of the highest order and should be banged and if not , matter should be brought in the knowledge of media and police at all levels so that they do not get scot-free of their such criminal acts.
Is there any body who when treated well or gets cured timely does not sincerely thank their doctors either openly or silently besides considering him not less god’s angel and also paying money what is asked for?
Is it so for any other profession?
but what he/she should do when they are cheated and loss is irreparable.
I appreciate the post and express thanks for the same

“Shall we” is easily said. Ask those who have had their loved ones in premium 5 star hospitals- paid every penny and dime to ensure the best treatment could be availed, but the system corruption is so humongous here that nobody is spared!Healthy or unhealthy-are all deemed as ‘patients’ in their eyes to make a fast buck, to earn the marmalade and cheese for their buttered toast!
