For all of you who thought Indian journalists defined arrogance, watch this.

The gentleman’s name is Mubashar Lucman, and he can be as awesome as they come. In the above video he manages to prove a point with the Pakistani parliamentarian, totally losing the whole debate about what to do with match fixing Pakistani cricketers in the nitty gritties of what law to invoke. Good work.

This latest Idea commercial could easily double up for national integration duty.

Interestingly, Abhishek and his run of creative ads for Idea Cellular seems to be going against the Bachchan khaandaan tradition of horribility. Big B’s Navratan oil ad and Aishwarya Bahu’s Loreal ads being cases in point.

Dare i add Big B’s adrenaline overdose campaign for the Champion’s trophy! If Junior sees that one on the telly, he will have nightmares.

The Breakthrough organization has won the Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions 57th International Advertising Festival in France, considered to be the world’s biggest celebration of creativity in communications, for its Bell Bajao campaign against domestic violence.

It’s a big deal. It’s like the Oscars of Advertising.

A lesser dentist sitting in a fancy office will charge Rs 500 for a visit. This one will take hundred and instantly solve your problem.

And dont even worry about lack of training.

I’ve done a lot of technical work. I even repaired bicycles.

Love Thy Tourist

The CommonWealth Games are coming up in Delhi in a few months. The government expects over one hundred thousand foreign athletes and tourists visiting the city.

Our attitude towards foreigners needs to change drastically if we hope to entertain any hopes of this being India’s coming-out party in a way even remotely close to what the Beijing Olympics were for China.

Foreigners are the easiest target in India. They are the most cooperative (willing or not) when it comes to fleecing. They will be charged auto/taxi fares that are exorbitant even in dollars. They will be mobbed into submission at the hands of beggars. They will be harassed, groped, molested, sometimes much worse.

Not sure if attitudes can change in such a rapid time frame, but here’s a step towards spreading awareness. A radio version of this ad is appearing rather often these days.

So the next time you think of misbehaving with a tourist, just picture Aamir Khan doing a Ghajini on you.

That should help.

Jewelery That Gets You Married

This ad makes interesting viewing.

So all you mothers-after-your-daughter-to-get-married - take her to a Tanishq showroom and get her to try some heavy jewelery worth a few Crores. That is supposed to change her mind.

After all, isnt that what a wedding is all about? Tons of jewelery, fancy food, and an NRI husband?

BTW, NRI husband? I thought they went out of fashion, like, a few years back!
